DEXYCLAV® and DEXYCLAV® FORTE

:: COMPOSITIONS ::

DEXYCLAV® Dry Syrup
Each measuring spoonful (5 ml) contains:
Amoxycillin trihydrate equivalent to amoxycillin anhydrous 125 mg
Clavulanate potassium equivalent to clavulanic acid 31,25 mg

DEXYCLAV® FORTE dry Syrup
Each measuring spoonful (5 ml) contains:
Amoxycillin trihydrate equivalent to amoxycillin anhydrous 250 mg
Clavulanate potassium equivalent to clavulanic acid 62,5 mg

 
:: INDICATIONS ::

DEXYCLAV® is indicated to any kind of infection that caused by bacteria, such as:
Bronchitis or respiratory disturbance where better expectoration is necessary.

  • Upper respiratory infections including sinusitis, tonsillitis, and otitis media.
  • Lower respiratory infections such as acute and chronic bronchitis, emphysema pneumonia, lungs abscess.
  • Soft tissue and skin infections such as: abscess, cellulitis, wound infections.
  • Urogenital infections such as: cystitis, urethritis, abortion caused by sepsis, pelvic infections, gonorrhea.
 
:: CONTRAINDICATIONS ::
  • Patient with hypersensitive to penicillin.
  • Baby born of mothers hypersensitive to penicillin.
 
:: DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION ::

Children 7-12 years of age:
3 times daily 1 measuring spoonful (5 ml) (DEXYCLAV® FORTE dry syrup) or 3 times daily 2 measuring spoonful (5 ml) (DEXYCLAV® dry syrup)

Children 2-7 years of age:
3 times daily 1 measuring spoonful (5 ml) (DEXYCLAV® dry syrup)

Children 9 months-2 years of age:
3 times daily 1/2 measuring spoonful (5 ml) (DEXYCLAV® dry syrup)
For severe infections, dose can be increased 2 fold higher than normal.
The treatment with DEXYCLAV® should not more than 14 days.

 
:: ADMINISTRATION ::

DEXYCLAV® dry syrup
Shake the bottle to free the powder from aggregates, then add 55 ml water, shake again. Do not move the bottle for 5 minutes until the drug is completely dispersed.

DEXYCLAV® FORTE dry syrup
Shake the bottle to free the powder from aggregate, then add 54 ml water, shake again. Do not move the bottle for 5 minutes until the drug is completely dispersed. Store the drug that has been reconstitute in refrigerator. Shake well before use. The drug should not be used more than 7 days after reconstitution.

 
:: WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS ::
  • Patient with moderate and severe renal impairment, the dose adjustment should be needed.
  • It is not recommended to use for women in the first trimester of pregnancy, unless based on the physician’s recommendation.
  • It should be carefully use in patient with severe hepatic impairment.
 
:: ADVERSE REACTIONS ::
  • Diarrhea, gastrointestinal disturbance, nausea, vomiting, and candidiasis have been reported.
  • Urticaria and erythematous rashes can occur, although it is rare.
  • Transient hepatitis, cholestatic jaundice.
